Release Date for Ares Rising

A first-quarter 1998 release date has been announced for the space combat game Ares Rising, the first release from Austin, Texas-based Imagine Studios LLC.

In the game, the player takes on the role of a mercenary who operates in a universe of dwindling resources. Before each mission, the player can decide whether or not he will accept the mission and then how he will equip his ship, carry out thebattle plan, and setup the tactics and strategies for each mission. As the game progresses, the player can upgrade his equipment and weapons or hire wingmen to assist him.

Ares Rising will be playable for up to eight gamers. Its expected retail price will be US$49.95.
