Registration is now closed. Team Graphite [1] filled up the quickest (within 60 seconds!) when registration first opened last Friday night. We can't tell yet if such organizational skills reflect these teams' abilities in Call of Duty 2, but this might be a sign that some of our participants are planning an all out assault in Operation: Winter Invasion.  Keep an eye on the brackets on the results page to see how the event plays out. Today marks the end of registration, and it's now time to assign team names. In order to keep things lively, we’ve gone ahead and assigned themed names to each of the 16 teams.

Also, to prepare for this tournament, please pay close attention to our FAQ and rules, and remember to watch the pistol bashing video so you can learn how to bash. Pistol bashing will determine which side each team starts on, so it will definitely make a difference to your team if you’ve mastered this technique.

If you weren't able to sign-up for the tournament, that doesn't mean you still can’t win some sweet prizes. GameSpot's Tournament TV will be broadcasting a LIVE stream of the Semifinals and Finals match this coming Friday night at 6pm PT. Watch the broadcast for live footage of the competition with commentary by the GameSpot editors, plus a chance to participate in a trivia contest to test your gaming knowledge. Many GameSpot editors, employees, and gamers from around the world will join the tournament chat room and talk it up during the live event.

Calling all waitlisters! If you signed up for a timeslot's waitlist, please show up for that time, check in, and be ready to be contacted by a tournament admin. If a player doesn't show up for the qualifying round, you will need to be prepared to battle. With every tournament so far, we've seen several of waitlisted contestants move up to take part in the action.
