EA Sports has today announced that, according to internal tracking, sales of both NCAA Football 2004 and Madden NFL 2004 are set to break the records set by their predecessors last year. NCAA Football 2004 has sold close to 1 million units since it launched in July, while Madden NFL 2004, which was released only three weeks ago, has already sold more than 2 million units.

"The data we're getting from retailers indicates this could be another record-breaking year for Madden NFL and NCAA Football," said EA's senior vice president of marketing, Frank Gibeau. "The season is just beginning, and serious fans have already been to the store twice for football games made by EA Sports."

According to EA's internal tracking, Madden NFL 2004 is the number one football game on all platforms, and NCAA Football 2004 is currently in the number two spot on all current-generation consoles. EA Sports also announced today that the PS2 versions of its football titles have been responsible for more than 200,000 new users registering to play online.
