Rebel Galaxy Is Free On The Epic Games Store
The Epic Games Store gives away free games each week; this week you can grab Rebel Galaxy.
The Epic Games Store gives out free games on a weekly basis, and the program will run through at least 2021. Every Thursday at the same time--8 AM PT / 11 AM ET--Epic gives up between one and three free games. You merely need to create a free Epic account and enable two-factor authentication to start snagging freebies. At this point, Epic has given away well over 100 free games, and there's no sign that the program will stop any time soon. We keep this article up to date weekly to highlight both the current free games and next week's offerings.
This week's free games at Epic
From now until August 19 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, you can claim Rebel Galaxy, a space adventure that puts you in the role of a star destroyer commander. You explore a dangerous galaxy filled with space pirates and other nefarious threats. In Rebel Galaxy, there's a great mix of combat and exploration, and you get to forge your own path as you decide whether to be good or, well, not so good.
Next week's free game at Epic
Starting August 19, you can grab Void Bastards and Yooka-Laylee. Void Bastards is first-person shooter that takes inspiration from System Shock and BioShock. As a roguelike shooter with strategy game features, Void Bastards tasks you with making decisions on where to lead your team. Yooka-Laylee is a colorful 3D platformer that plays homage to Banjo-Kazooie and other classic platformers.
