Karpov Chess is now shipping and will let those with Nvidia graphics cards see the game in stereoscopic 3D.

Razor3D has announced that Karpov Chess is now shipping to retail stores. This chess game is designed for use with stereoscopic 3D glasses, such as Razor3D's I-ware! glasses, and a pair of paper glasses are included in the box for those who'd like to casually try the 3D effect. Karpov Chess' 3D effect depends on the Nvidia stereo 3D driver, which forces an Nvidia graphics card to display twice as many frames as normal and offsets them from each other to achieve a 3D depth effect.

Karpov Chess is intended for chess players of all skill levels. The AI for the expert skill level is inspired by the original version of the game developed at MIT. The game is now available for a suggested price of $39.95.
