Raystorm Hits Stores

Working Designs' first PlayStation product has finally made its way to retail shelves.

It's been a long wait, but Raystorm, Working Designs' first PlayStation product, has made it to store shelves.

Shooters have all but died out in the US, with only a handful of badly-promoted shooters being translated from Japanese. In an effort to bring the genre back in the US, Working Designs has brought out Raystorm, one of Taito's finest shooters to date.

GS News talked to Victor Ireland of Working Designs about the release, to which he said, "I'm glad it's finally out." The game came in to Electronics Boutique locations today, and will be available at other software outlets before the weekend. By early next week, the game should be available everywhere.

The game has the same kind of attention to detail that Working Designs has made itself famous for. A full-color high-quality manual, new game options (with a higher level of difficulty), and a $10,000 contest usher the company's first step into PlayStation translation in style.

As far as the future's concerned, Victor said that the company is currently looking at working on more shooters, but nothing has been announced yet. This first step is definitely a very strong one.
