Rare in Rare Form

TOKYO - Jet Force Gemini, Perfect Dark, and Donkey Kong 64 show their faces on the floor of Makuhari Messe.

Comments

Alongside Nintendo's biggest first-party titles on the floor of Makuhari Messe were a trio of soon-to-be-hits from Rare. Of those, Donkey Kong 64 was the most heavily touted - its presence was celebrated with a rappin', hip-hoppin' floor show (most of the lyrics talkin' 'bout DK64's features). The DK demo shown at Space World was the same one that had been shown at E3 in May, so there weren't any new surprises on that front.

Jet Force Gemini was shown in its almost-complete form. The game will be released in October in the US and in November in Japan. Perfect Dark, which was also shown, will be released in February 2000 in Japan. (We'll have to fight the crowds tomorrow to get near it.)
