CANNES - If you've played Incoming, you know that UK-based developer Rage knows quite a bit about 3D graphics. And that knowledge was on display at the Intel booth here at Milia, where Rage demonstrated four new games. The demonstration had two purposes. First, it introduced the games to the worldwide press. Second it illustrated the impact of the Pentium III processor in high-end, high-speed 3D graphics applications.

The games cover a diverse range of subjects. Up first, and scheduled for a first quarter release, is Savage Arena, a futuristic sports sim that features two eight-player teams competing in bloody, soccer-like contest. Next comes Expendable, an Ikari-warrior style, two-person shooter that features loads of special graphical effects. It's scheduled for release in May and will be followed shortly by Midnight GT, a racing game based on the late-night youth racing movement in Japan. Finally, in the third quarter, Rage will release Hostile Waters, an action-strategy game centered on an aircraft carrier.

GameSpot will soon bring you full coverage of all these games, but in the meantime, take a look at the screenshots for an idea of what to expect this year from Rage.
