Radical Bites Bullet...Downsizes Again

Vancouver-based developer lays off 40 employees. Move comes one month after closing its US office.

Radical Entertainment has downsized again, this time trimming 40 employees from the company's payroll. The reductions occurred on Thursday and leave the Vancouver-based development house with 140 employees, according to Radical.

In late September, Radical closed down its San Francisco operations after being unable to control costs associated with development of ESPN Digital Games-licensed titles. That license has since reverted to ESPN's owner, Disney.

Radical made news recently when the only ESPN-branded game likely to see the light of day, X-Games Pro Boarder, was picked up for distribution by Electronic Arts.
