QuakeCon 2016 Confirmed, Dates Announced

The free fan event celebrates its 21st anniversary this year.

Not long after QuakeCon 2015 wrapped up at the end of July, Bethesda has now announced that the show will return in 2016. The event will take place August 4-7 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas.

More than 12,000 people attended QuakeCon 2015, which was the show's 20th year. Next year's event will be free and open to the public, as it's sponsored by id Software and Bethesda Softworks. Registration does not yet appear to be open, but you can bookmark this page for the latest.

If you're an early planner, you can make a hotel reservation here and receive a special room rate ($170/night) when you reference QuakeCon 2016.

Bethesda hasn't announced the full schedule for QuakeCon 2016 yet--it is 11 months away, after all--but the publisher says fans can expect to see the famous Bring-Your-Own-Computer LAN party return. In addition, there will be panels, presentations, and workshops where Bethesda will talk about its upcoming games.

Fans can also look forward to contests, entertainment, announcements, and parties. This year's show brought news about Fallout 4 and the new Doom, among other ganes.
