With little more than a month to go until QuakeCon 2005, its organizers have unveiled the final program for the 10th annual frag-a-thon. Besides the first public multiplayer demo of Quake 4, the forthcoming shooter for the PC and Xbox 360, the conference will also feature new footage from and details on Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, the online-only multiplayer spin-off of the series.

Another game-centered feature of QuakeCon 2005 will be the Nvidia Championships. Offering a total of $150,000 in prizes, Nvidia, the graphics card maker will be sponsoring a series of PC shooter tournaments, including the Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory Championship, the Quake II Retro-Deathmatch Championship, the all-female Quake III Arena Ms. QuakeCon Championship, and the Doom 3 Deathmatch Championship.

Speaking of Doom 3, the man behind id Software's latest shooter, lead programmer John Carmack, will deliver the keynote address at the event. Also in attendance will be Jon Farhat, the visual effects supervisor of the Doom movie, which is due later this year and stars the Rock.

More than 6,000 attendees are expected to attend QuakeCon 2005, which runs from August 11 to 14 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. For more details, visit the official QuakeCon 2005 Web site.
