Quake II Mission Pack Arrives

The mission pack from Xatrix features 18 new single-player levels and seven deathmatch levels.

id Software and Activision announced today the release of the Quake II Mission Pack: The Reckoning. The mission pack was developed by Xatrix Entertainment and will be distributed by Activision.

The mission pack features 18 new single-player levels along with seven designed for deathmatch play.

New enemies in this pack include the Gekk, which "stalk virtually undetected, but attack with lightning-quick moves as they drop from the shadows to claw or bite unsuspecting prey" and repair bots, which resurrect downed enemies, "making gibbing corpses more important than ever," according to Activision.

New weapons include a Phalanx Cannon that shoots twin pulsing energy blasts; an Energy Trap that captures enemies and turns them into a food cube for players' to eat; and the Ion Ripper, a gun that fires a stream of ricocheting energy particles.

Xatrix's mission pack will sport a suggested retail price of US$29.95.
