Puzzle & Dragons nets GungHo $763 million early this year
Sales for mobile game's publisher from January to June spike up 945.5 percent.
The mobile puzzle game Puzzle & Dragons is making GungHo Online Entertainment smile all the way to the bank.

According to a GamesIndustry International report that highlighted a record by analyst Dr. Serkan Toto, the company reported sales of $763 million, up 946 percent year-over-year, from January to June of this year. The company's net income was $287 million, which was up 2,609 percent from 2012.
On the April to June quarter, game sales were at $446 million while the company's net income was $161 million. From that period alone, GungHo made $4.9 million in sales per day. The analyst said that the main driver behind the numbers was Puzzle & Dragons.
Even with those figures, the sales of the game was slowing down. The July sales were "just" $138 million, which calculates to about $4.5 million per day. The company plans to improve that by releasing the game in several European territories this year.
Puzzle & Dragons has 17 million players in Japan alone. GungHo has plans to port the game to 3DS this winter.
