Update: The issues PSN was running into earlier today appear to have cleared up, according to the PSN status page. All services are listed as "up and running" as of 8 PM PT.

Original Story: The PlayStation Network is encountering issues today, preventing users from signing in and playing games, among other things.

Sony confirmed it's aware of the issues, with its support account on Twitter saying, "We're aware that users are experiencing issues logging into PSN. Thanks for your patience as we investigate."

The PSN status page shows a number of areas being affected, including account management, gaming and social, PlayStation Now, and PlayStation Vue. These issues are affecting users on PS4, PS3, and Vita, as well as other platforms, in the case of Vue. The PlayStation Store is reportedly unaffected, meaning you should be able to claim the new PlayStation Plus games released today.

There's no ETA for when service will resume, but we'll continue to monitor the situation. These issues come one day prior to the PlayStation Meeting, where Sony is expected to announce new PlayStation hardware, potentially along with other things.
