PS5's Spider-Man Remastered Will Let You Import Existing Saves After All

An update coming post-launch to the PS4 version of Marvel's Spider-Man will let you export saves, plus add those snazzy new suits.

The 2018 game Marvel's Spider-Man is going to be a PS5 launch game of sorts, with a remastered version coming alongside the new Spider-Man: Miles Morales. But that version was to launch without the ability to import your PS4 saves, which is an issue Insomniac now plans to address.

In a tweet, Insomniac announced that Spider-Man for PS4 will allow you to export your save to Spider-Man Remastered. On top of that, the PS4 update will add the three new suits from Remastered: the Amazing suit from the Andrew Garfield films, and the Arachnid Rider and Armored Advanced suits. The update is coming sometime around Thanksgiving.

Since it's an update to the PS4 version but coming post-launch to PS5, you may need to play the backwards compatible version on your PS5 to export the save. After that, though, you should be able to import your progress to Remastered and continue on your webslinging way with prettier graphics, faster load times, and Peter's new face.

The star attraction, though, is the spin-off game Miles Morales. While that's releasing for both PS4 and PS5, it's being treated ostensibly as a PS5 launch game. In GameSpot's Spider-Man: Miles Morales review, Jordan Ramée said, the new game is a "compelling open-world action game that helps highlight why Miles is so special: his culture."
