Both Marvel Ultimate Alliance games are indeed being re-released, and they'll be out this week on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Listings for new versions of the games were discovered on the website for Taiwan's game ratings board in June, signaling that both action-RPGs were headed to current-gen platforms. Marvel confirmed the news as part of Comic-Con this weekend, although those hoping for full-blown remasters may be disappointed with the specifics.

"We wanted these re-releases to be as faithful to the original Ultimate Alliance games as possible--the definitive versions," executive producer Mike Jones said on Marvel's website. "However, the team did work really hard on improving performance, some UI and graphic enhancements, as well as making the games compatible with modern platform features on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. They play really smooth."

Both games support local and online co-op and are due out tomorrow, July 26, for $40 each. They'll also be available as part of a bundle that consists of the two for $60. It's unclear if they'll be getting physical and digital releases, but we'll report back once we know more.

Jones said these re-releases come in response to fan demand. He also teased that a brand-new game in the series could eventually be made: In response to a question if these re-releases point toward a "new beginning for Ultimate Alliance as a franchise," Jones said, "Following the footsteps of a proud Marvel tradition, I’ll say: Anything is possible, true believers!"
