While the wait for a localized version of Dragon Quest Heroes may have been a long one, your patience will pay off: Square Enix plans to include all of the DLC episodes released in Japan for free in North America and Europe.

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below, as it's officially called, launches in October for PS4 in both regions. While the DLC is located on the disc itself, it won't immediately be available. You'll need to first reach a certain segment in the main story, at which point you'll receive letters at the in-game post office allowing you to take part in the additional episodes.

Some of the DLC unlocks new costumes and a new playable character, while certain episodes are designed to play on series fans' nostalgia: You'll get to take on bosses from Dragon Quest III, IV, V, and VI, among other nostalgia-laden things.

Heroes launches on October 13 in North America and October 16 in Europe. The Day One edition comes with some bonus weapons, while the $100 collector's edition comes inside of a treasure chest and includes an adorable slime plush.
