A new system update for PlayStation 4 now available, but you may not notice the changes. The patch notes are only one line, and simply read, "This system software update improves system performance."

The most recent major PS4 system update added a wide array of features, including new organizational options, additional parental controls, and a supersampling option for PS4 Pro. Users could monitor child playtime and prevent it during certain hours of the day, and the Pro would automatically improve some image quality in 2K or lower TVs. It also added a Library app in the PlayStation Plus section to easily find all the downloads you've accumulated during your membership, a PSVR icon, and notification customizations.

That followed a similar update focused on 4K media playback support. Though Sony decided not to pursue 4K Blu-rays with the PS4 Pro, the update allowed playback with the Media Player app.

The current PlayStation Plus offerings include Mad Max, Trackmania Turbo, and some cross-play Vita games like Q-Bert Rebooted. If those don't strike your fancy, check out this week's deals on the PlayStation Store.
