PS4 Tops Xbox One In February 2017 US Sales

@NeonicTrash: You answered your own question lol. And yes, it caught up and passed 360 sales worldwide. I'm pretty sure 360 dominated the U.S. if that matters to you, which it doesn't for game developers. And you're right, I remember 360 software sales being higher, as they should have been. It was a much more friendly system to develop for.

@neoistheone: Ok, I'm all for the awesome optimization that goes into certain games, but I highly doubt a 6 tflop gpu would compare to a 10 on PC. Another factor would be the CPU. All we got from MS is that it'll have 8 cores, just like the original xbox one and ps4/Pro... heck, even my Samsung phone has an 8 core processor and it's 2 years old. I'm afraid MS might have over hyped this machine, not that I'm downing it, but be realistic. Mark Cerny, who seems like a genius (probably is) had to use the same jaguar cpu in the Pro... I'm assuming for compatibility issues with older games. Or maybe to cut cost down... who knows. Here's one thing that most likely true: if the CPU was going to be something remarkable, MS would have boasted about it, instead of just saying "8 core" which literally means nothing in today's CPUs.

As far as profits go, has the xbox division made a single profit since the original was released? I had heard they lost billions, but it could be rumors.

@neoistheone: They're damn well still focused on the gap when they still keep saying like "the first and only console to enable true 4K gaming and high-fidelity virtual reality" about Scorpio being more powerful than Pro. I say, one only pretends to forget about catching up.

PS3 caught up because 360 didn't have jack towards the end of its lifespan, while PS3 was still getting great exclusives. which @joshrmeyer said it on the beginning that games are what matters.

As for Scorpio, I don't even want to talk about this as for one, we don't even know the price of it and two, the ecosystem MS is going for, makes it hard for me to get a Scorpio when I have a PC.

Rumor or not, how does a 6tf gpu run like a 10tf gpu? I don't get how a software company (lacks software btw, meaning games) can make a 6tf machine to run like a 10tf pc.

@pcps4xb: Just have the demo for Odin's Sphere L, but it's awesome... just can't spend $60 on it. Definitely a future pick up.

@suicidesn0wman: Yeah, not sure where he got the 11 months from... the game hasn't even been out that long. Oh well, honest mistake I'm sure.

@sodapoppimpski: Hope you're right. I hope you understand that I want games to be made. I've never owned an xbox (I was actually at e3 when the first one was revealed... huge controller lol). With that new game subscription, it'd be worth it for me to pick up one... waiting on scorpios specs and price first.

@suicidesn0wman: If they do have a bunch of AAAs coming up, then good, they will sell more consoles. I can't foresee the future... just going based on the last 3 years. MS sure wasn't shy about revealing the scorpio way in advance... I'd be surprised they'd hold off on games. Show a game that may release 2-3 years from now and you may get someone to buy your console knowing a bunch of good looking games are coming out, albeit years away. Look at how many people bought an xbox for scalebound, and the applause it got at E3. If a AAA takes 3-5 years to make, why wouldn't you show it off 2-3 years ahead of release? It doesn't make sense why MS would be hiding AAA games that are going to be released within the next few years. And enough with the plastic box comment lol... didn't you hear? Scorpios going to be made out of metal (aluminum would actually be really cool, literally)
