Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over and done with, but Sony is continuing to offer good deals on PlayStation 4 hardware. The company has announced that the Star Wars Battlefront standard edition and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection PS4 bundles will sell for just $300 in the US from December 6 to December 19.

That's the prime holiday shopping window. It will be interesting to see if Microsoft follows suit with its own Xbox One discount to level the playing field. The Xbox One starts at $350.

The Battlefront standard edition comes with a regular jet black system and controller, as well as a copy of Star Wars Battlefront. Also included are vouchers to download four classic Star Wars games: Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, and Star Wars Bounty Hunter.

Meanwhile, the Uncharted system comes with a copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, which features updated versions of the three Uncharted games from the PlayStation 3 era. Also included is access to the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End multiplayer beta, which begins December 4.

The holiday shopping season is an important one for the entire industry, and this price cut gives Sony the edge, at least in terms of price point. The Battlefront bundle could also benefit from the buzz around Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which some are projecting to become the most successful movie of all time.

The Xbox One outsold the PS4 in the US during October, while NPD numbers for November will be announced next week. With more than 30 million units sold, the PS4 remains the top-selling new-generation console worldwide.
