Now Playing: The History of Black Friday

Black Friday 2017 is right around the corner, and we've gotten a look at the deals many retailers will offer this year. And while it initially seemed like there wouldn't be any deals for Sony's 4K-capable PlayStation 4 Pro, GameStop's ad has revealed it will be on sale for $350. The deal is available right now. [Update: Walmart is all offering the same $350 price.]

This is your best bet for getting a PS4 Pro at a discount this year. Your only other options are the regular $400 retail price at other stores or $450 for the special-edition Destiny 2 and Star Wars Battlefront II models, barring any surprise offers we haven't seen yet.

If you're not sure whether you should make the jump to the Pro, you can read our full PS4 Pro review. Author Jimmy Thang writes, "If you have a 4K HDR TV and are looking to buy a console, I’d definitely recommend the PS4 Pro. Even if you have a 1080p TV and are looking to buy a PlayStation, I’d still lean more toward the Pro. Yes, it does cost $100 more than the Slim model, but you get more ports, twice the storage space, more future-proof hardware in the event that you ever decide to get a 4K TV, and some games can look slightly better at 1080p."

For a complete roundup, see our full list of PS4 Black Friday deals. There are sure to be even more deals to come, while others may be unlisted for the time being, so check back with us in the lead up to Black Friday. For more, check out retailer-specific deals breakdowns through the links below.

Bought the white destiny 2 Pro for $349 on Amazon. Game is physical so I can sell it(I already own it) and it also comes with a digital season pass. My HDMI just broke on my OG PS4 so I made the jump... Also bought the Skyrim psvr bundle for $349. Hopefully the Pro helps with that game a bit also.

This is an impressive move by Gamestop. I'm surprised.

Anyone on the fence has $50 more motivation; get on it! Multi-platform has always been the beat way to enjoy gaming.

(Currently agonizing why I sent my best heroes into a brand new area in Darkest Dungeon.... AAARGH!!! At least one isn't coming back.)

The modern day gamer need their head examined to let SONY and Microsoft run a muck of price hikes.

Console prices should have stayed at $199-299 for launch.

Anyone who ventured beyond that should let alone and left to flop. If companies see people weren't buying their overpriced systems they would think twice before launching systems again at those ridiculous prices.

Same applies to mobile phone companies too who are now reaching the $1,000 mark as if this is acceptable.

@c_smithii: ps4 is the fastest selling playstation, 399 was a steal weirdo

Avatar image for c_smithii

@banhammer: You two sound like sheep. $399 is a steal, of your money from your wallet for those remastered remakes of HD games on the PS3.

@c_smithii: If you don't think $350 is a steal for something like this then you're in the wrong hobby. Get a job?

Even if you only see it as a device to play PS4 games and a device to stream 4K Netflix/Amazon/Youtube, the pricing makes it highly competitive for gamers or show/movie streaming buffs (uh, that's everyone?) that may have just moved up to a UHD screen.

Seems like a crap deal given the deals on the slim

Gonna be a real war between this and the new X box One X moving into the near future. I think the big thing on many people's mind will be whether the difference in power between the two will warrant the significant disparity in price between each. Regardless of which console one decides on I think it's fair to say that they will be more than satisfied with their purchase.

@videogameninja: if I where a Xbox owner, I think I'd be more inclined to upgrade to a 1x, regardless of the greater cost, I'd simply feel I'm getting a far better upgrade in hardware, as aposed to a ps4 owner, I don't really feel I'm getting a big enough upgrade to warrant the cost. But then again there's a ton of reasons why I don't own an Xbox to begin with, and at this moment in time if owned neither, the pro would most definitely be the console I'd be going for.
