PS4 Best-Selling Console in US and Worldwide for 2014

The PlayStation 4 was the most sold console of 2014 in the US and globally, Sony told GameSpot in a statement today. The PS4 is the fastest-selling console in PlayStation history, selling 18.5 million units in the 14 months since its launch.

"We are humbled by this success and want to thank gamers worldwide for helping us achieve holiday sales of more than 4.1 million across 123 countries and regions. We are looking forward to another momentous year in 2015 and bringing an epic line up of titles to PlayStation fans around the world," a Sony Computer Entertainment America spokesperson said.

Earlier today it was revealed that Xbox One was the best-selling console for December last year, maintaining its status as the number one sold console in November 2014. Microsoft's also announced that the price of the Xbox One would be dropping to $350 in the US.

Along with the NPD hardware information, the research group also revealed the top 10 best-selling games for 2014. Can you guess what came out on top?
