PS3's VidZone launching in PAL territories on June 11
Music video streaming confirmed for a June launch in UK, Australia, PAL countries.
Topping off a strong showing at E3 2009, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that VidZone will be coming to the United Kingdom, France, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Australia on June 11.
VidZone is a music video streaming service that is operated by VidZone Digital Media based out of London. The service is host to more than 10,000 music videos and has licences to some of the biggest record labels in the world (such as Sony BMG and EMI). The cost of running the streams is subsidised by selling advertising banners and running 30-second TV commercials every five songs.
Downloading Vidzone is fairly straightforward. All you need to do is log into the PlayStation Network and download it from the PlayStation Store. Once you've grabbed it off the Net and installed it, VidZone will appear at the top of the music channel on the Xross Media bar.
