PS3s on sale for £400
One online retailer is already discounting the next-gen console, despite initial sales figures going through the roof.
The UK PlayStation 3 launch may not have attracted the thousands who came to the Wii launch or even that of the Burning Crusade, but as far as sales figures go, it's a record breaker.
Before launch, many criticised the price point of the PS3, which at £425 was significantly higher than the price in regions where the console had previously launched--for example, the US and Japan.
However, the high price point seems to have been no barrier to sales, at least in the initial launch period. So it's perhaps surprising that one online retailer is offering discounted PS3s for sale on its Web site.
The company is offering PS3s for £340.38 excluding VAT (£399.95 including), which is more than £25 under the official retail price for the console of £425.
Aria Technology Limited bills itself as a "major supplier of PC compatible computer components and peripherals" established in 1993 and based in Manchester. The PS3 offer seems to be its first foray into the online gaming hardware sales market.
