THQ has announced its latest game for the Sony PlayStation 2 - the tentatively titled Bass Fishing. The game features the license of the Bass Angler Sportsman Society, and it's the latest in a growing line of bass fishing games from THQ. Bass Fishing lets players compete in three modes of play - arcade, tournament, and practice - and it includes the lure cam, which provides simultaneous above- and underwater perspectives on a split screen.

"This title will showcase the sport of bass fishing like never before," stated Michael Rubinelli, vice president of product development for THQ. "Bass Fishing will offer everything from 120 different lures to seven authentic Bass Tournament Trail Lakes, all with incredibly lifelike graphics and gameplay made possible by the PlayStation 2."

Bass Fishing for the PS2 is being developed by Pai, the creator of Championship Bass, and it is scheduled for release in summer 2001.
