PS2 and GameCube Shooter Star Wars: Bounty Hunter Rated for PS3

Is Sony gearing up to re-release the 2002 Star Wars game on PlayStation 3?

2002 PlayStation 2 and GameCube third-person shooter Star Wars: Bounty Hunter could be coming to the PlayStation 3, if a new ratings post is anything to go on. This week, the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) rated Star Wars: Bounty Hunter for PS3, giving it the same T-for-Teen rating as the original game.

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter puts you into the boots of bounty hunter Jango Fett, the father of Boba Fett. You travel across the Star Wars universe completing contracts that involve killing all manner of creatures.

The ESRB's new Star Wars: Bounty Hunter rating for PS3 unfortunately provides no details about any possible changes made to the game for its potential PS3 release. This is not uncommon for ESRB ratings pertaining to new versions of previously released games.

Star Wars: Bounty Hunter was developed by LucasArts' now-defunct video game development arm. For now, you can check out GameSpot's review of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter from back in 2002.

im waiting on either a MGS V bundle or a Batman Arkham Knight bundle

im perfectly happy with my ps3 and 3ds

and all the games most are playing right now will be discounted by next year.

havn't you guys learned not to buy next gen consoles right off the bat because stupid stuff like this happens>

They did the exact same shyte for GTA 1&2 a year or so ago but they never materialized on PSN.

You'd think with HUGE popularity of the GTA franchise people would want to play these gems again.

I liked this game, but I didn't think it was good enough to warrant a remake/remaster. (By this I am referring to reviews/sales.)

This and Star Wars: Obi-Wan (2001) are two Star Wars games that I was curious about, but they never came to PC. Perhaps I'm not missing much, the reviews suggest that The Meh is strong with those two, but you can't always trust reviews. I recently got The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition for PC and it's better than the reviews suggest.

Good thing I still have a ps3, might actually get some use other than Netflix, this is one of my favorite Star Wars games. It's crazy how many hours I put into games like these before online gaming on consoles became popular.

Remember that Obiwan game for the original Xbox? I literally bought an Xbox to play that game. My Wife (GF at the time) and I were at the movie theater, and they showed a trailer for the Obiwan game and I thought "OMG that looks amazing!!!. We left the theater (after the movie), walked across the parking lot to Target and I got an Xbox and that crappy game. Fun times.

That terrible game actually had a trailer at the movie theater? What movie was it in front of?

@RogueJedi86 @HackedLife Obviously not Star Wars episode 2 or 3, the only star wars movies that came out in time to advertise Xbox Classic games.

I though Obi-Wan came out before Episode 3, a few years after the pile of TPM games we got in 1999/2000. I was guessing some unrelated kids movie had the trailer.

Bounty Hunter is actually one of my favorite Star Wars games. I already have it on PS2 but with no system to play it on I'd surely be interested in a re-release.

I can easily suggest better games for Disney to htfu and make, since they so graciously took over and probably canned every single last SW project out of the 20 or so that were in development.

Force Unleashed 3. Jedi Knight 4, brand new engine and gameplay and no more shootey bs - just Jediing. Star Wars Jedi Starfighter 2. A MUCH BETTER clone wars game than Clone Wars on PS2/Xbox or the newer one. Remake of Tie Fighter/X Wing. New Rogue Squadron not exclusive to Nintendo. Battlefront 3, hurry up DICE and make it so you can get around to patching it's massive problems a year after release.

@grenadehh Add in KOTOR and Empire at War and you pretty much sum up what I want, except I do enjoy the shooting in JK, made it a real challenge between friends, but we played that game so much we learned to adapt strategies for certain roles. A lot of people didn't like Force Unleashed, but to me I thought it had some really good gameplay, the canon in it and some of the feats that were performed were off, but it was really fun.

@Smosh150 Definitely vote for EAW2. One of the best strategy games - forget Star Wars - in general that I own. Ultimate EAW mod makes it even more awesome.TFU franchise was great, TFU2 was just waaaaaaaaaaaaay too short. 4 levels, Kamino, Cato Nemoidia, and a Nebulon B frigate, and Kamino. Oh joy.

Would like more combos/grapple kills too. And more frequent dismemberment. Maybe even two campaigns - one Jedi or light side character and one Dark side character. Or it could be like Jedi Academy where your actions determine your path, and it actually changes the story significantly. That would be nice. Also agree with a KOTOR3.

TOR was a total fail joke. I remember years ago being in Micro Center and that 20 minute CG intro was on and it was so badass. Game came out, and it was junk.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Agreed on everything, especially swtor, spent 4 years pre-release in two different clans for it, almost feels like a waste of time considering how much I put into it before it even released.

I think its a great idea remaking older games. It just seems the new games are just dashing hopes and falling on their face.

At the same time i think all this emphasis on current gen, be it Chivalry Medieval Wars, PS NOW, and many other investments are further testament that Current Gen is NOT going away, and the future will indefinitely be both current AND next gen.

A bitter pill perhaps given the wasted investment on nothing more than a quick money grab providing little difference, but nonetheless the facts at this point.

Anyway i love seeing the older games making comebacks. Keep em coming.

So many other great Star Wars games to re-release, and this is the best they can come up wth?

Why not X-Wing? Or Tie Fighter?

Come on, Disney...Take my money!

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Won't happen, only if Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous gain a lot of sales/popularity after release would they ever consider it, we are passed the golden age where a huge number of gamers played on PC's(not that there aren't quite a bit anymore) and Space Sims were one of the big things back(Though it is definitely regaining its popularity). We are more likely to get a rogue squadron before then.

<< LINK REMOVED >> One that doesn't suck, isn't quake engine ,and doesn't try to be a FPS/Saber Game hybrid like JK3 did. JK2 made sense because you re-learned Jedism and were a mercenary before that. JK3, no. Actual TFU hack and slash gameplay, please.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Bro. It's called jedi knight....................

Being a Jedi in multiplayer required nothing but doing moves correctly and not godlagging. Jedi Knight.....doesn't use guns or grenades. The entire franchise was misnamed from the beginning because they idiotically said "Dark Forces 2 Jedi Knight? ZOMG let's continue it and make irrelevant jedi games where it's easier and more fun to kill people with flak cannons."

The only saving grace of those games was the fact that multiplayer was heavily modded to include saberstaffs and 4 bladed Mara Jade sabers, among other things. Without that it was a Star Wars reskin of Quake 2 and the fact that the guns worked perfectly while the sabers floundered proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt (Without the mods).

Idk if you've played Chivalry MW or War of the works even less well when you are forced into a horrible third person Roses or PVK, but first person melee combat doesn't work very well. It view to do it on an engine made primarily for first person shooters.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Fair enough, I definitely will admit melee didn't work the best, but it was a lot of fun to me. Though I totally agree on the mods, I usually played JA+ with a bunch of other guys and I usually just went for the vibroswords/staffs. IDK why, but non-lightsaber melee weapons have been cool in star wars ever since I played KOTOR and Republic Commando.

"Jedi Knight.....doesn't use guns or grenades."

As to you that, in the time the games are set in many Jedi used non lightsaber weapons, a lot carried blasters and the like and adopted a different attitude towards being a Jedi and more towards the grey Jedi area. As well Katarn wasn't a Jedi in Jedi Outcast, he just wielded the force, but eventually returned to the Jedi way at the end.
