PS Plus: Buy A 1-Year Subscription Code For $36

PS4 owners can get a year of PlayStation Plus for a nice price at Ebay.

With many people still stuck inside because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we're all looking for ways to entertain ourselves as the weeks drag by. To help people pass the time, many publishers are giving away free games that you can claim and keep, but several subscription services also get you free games along with online multiplayer access, both of which are handy to have these days. For PS4 users, that's PlayStation Plus, which gets you free monthly games, online multiplayer, exclusive discounts, and more for $60 a year. Right now, however, you can snag a year of PS Plus for a fraction of the price.

Over at Ebay, you can get a year of PS Plus on sale for $36 via reputable seller NeoGames. While the listing describes the product as a "subscription card," this is an emailed code you'll receive within 24 hours (we confirmed this by purchasing a code ourselves). After receiving the code, you can then redeem it in the PlayStation Store. As a reminder, PlayStation Plus memberships can be stacked, so if you already have an active subscription, it'll be extended by 12 months.

We've been tracking this Ebay offer for some time now, and it's always a good deal when you can find a 12-month PS Plus subscription for less than $40. There's no telling when this offer might end.

Once your PS Plus membership is active, you can immediately take advantage of one of its best perks: free monthly games. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of PlayStation Plus' launch, subscribers can snag three free games in July instead of two: Rise of the Tomb Raider, NBA 2K20, and Erica.

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.

The Newegg deal is actually better since they don't charge tax. I was just about to buy on ebay when I saw the tax and thought I've never been charged tax for a gift card. I went to Newegg and it was 39.99 total instead of $41.50 total.

I don't play pew pew games online and the "free games" aren't free. They're rentals.

I could buy the "free" games for cheaper than the price of PS+.

Pass.

@srfilk86: I play some games online and will always have a PS+ sub for that reason alone. The fact that I get free games along with it is just icing on the cake. Also, I've never ever paid $60 for a sub before. I always get it on sale. I actually just bought 2 years at this price.

@tsunami2311: Many of the games they make 'free' are stuff in the clearance bin at Gamestop or other retailers. So yes, in many cases we could buy them for less than the MSRP price of PS+.

@tsunami2311: Most of them are rubbish. The good ones could all be attained easily under 59 dollars.
