Warsaw-based City Interactive has today announced that development is already under way on Project Earth 2, the sequel to the space real-time strategy game released in North America last April. The game will be story-driven, and, according to the official Web site launched today, it will do away with complex user interfaces and lengthy lists of options in favor of a more direct, action-friendly control system.

"Project Earth 2 is our breakthrough title," said Mark Tyminksi, CEO at City Interactive. "We're targeting all strategy fans, and by the quality we plan to bring, we hope to receive high rating across the special interest press all around the world. We have learned a lot from the prequel experience, and now is the time to give players what they really want."

The game's story line will not revolve around an alien race posing a threat to humankind, but will instead see players taking command of a small group of unjustly exiled people out to prove their innocence. Further information on Project Earth has not been released at this time, but we'll bring more details on the game as soon as they're available.
