Professor Layton's first adventure million seller in Japan

The Professor Layton puzzle games have been a hit with the casual crowd ever since the first in the series arrived in Asia on February 10, 2008. Recently, Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino revealed on Twitter that the first game in the series, Professor Layton and the Curious Village, topped the 1 million sales mark in Japan. Hino also revealed that the series' shipment figures total over 11 million.

The Japanese version of Professor Layton and the Curious Village went on sale on February 15, 2007. The most recent game in the series, Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle for the 3DS, sold 117,589 copies on the day of the Nintendo system's launch in Japan.
