Prinny 2 heading stateside in January
NIS America confirms North American release for brutally difficult action platformer Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! on PSP, PSN next year.
About this time last year, Nippon Ichi Software confirmed that a sequel to Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? was in development, with an anticipated 2010 release date--in Japan, at least. For its part, NIS America expressed enthusiasm about bringing Prinny 2 to stateside PSPs, telling GameSpot that it was "definitely interested" in localizing the game.

That interest has become a reality, as NIS America announced today that Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! will arrive in the US in January 2011. The game will be released as a UMD as well as a digital download through the PlayStation Network.
A spin-off of the Disgaea franchise, Prinny is an action platformer that the developer billed as the most "challenging side-scrolling action game ever." Its predecessor follows in those footsteps, taking place after the original and telling the story of Netherworld overlord Etna's missing panties. To reclaim her underwear, she dispatches 1,000 of the franchise's demonic penguins, who are tasked with returning the goods safely home.
