Microids has today released new information on some of the characters that will be central to the plot of Post Mortem, its post-World War I adventure game scheduled for release later this year.

Players will assume the role of an American detective named Gus Macpherson, who is now living in Paris. It's been revealed today that Macpherson is no ordinary detective though: As a child genius with a gift for painting he experienced visions--visions that have since proved useful in solving all manner of strange cases in his subsequent career as a detective.

As we 2881708revealed in our last update, the game sees Macpherson being approached by a mysterious woman who wants him to investigate the ritualistic beheadings of two of her family members. We now know that the victims in question were an American couple named Johnson, and that the charming female character looking to bring Macpherson out of retirement is called Sophia Blake. She's also American and counts manipulative, determined, and seductive among her personality traits.

Post Mortem is scheduled for release later this year. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
