Portal developer's next game debuting at PAX
Square Enix and Airtight Games showing off Kim Swift's next project during Saturday panel at Seattle-based gaming convention.
The question of how one makes a follow-up to the breakout 2007 hit Portal has already been answered once, as Valve released Portal 2 to critical acclaim earlier this year. It will be answered a second time this week, as Square Enix has confirmed that it will be debuting the next game from Portal lead developer Kim Swift at this year's Penny Arcade Expo.
Square Enix has a Saturday panel scheduled in which Swift and the rest of the Airtight Games development team will present their game, which the publisher is describing as "incredibly fascinating and quirky." Swift is serving as creative director on the project.
Swift has also previously worked on Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. Airtight Games is best known for Capcom's jetpack-powered third-person shooter Dark Void.
The Square Enix-Airtight panel is set for 7 p.m. Saturday in the Pegasus Room at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. The Penny Arcade Expo, also commonly known as PAX Prime, will run August 26 through August 28. Although the show is generally open to the public, badges to attend the show sold out in May.
