Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus has gone gold and will ship to North American retail shelves on November 13. The game went on sale in Japan on September 20.

A new version of 2006's well-received Portable Ops, MGS: Portable Ops Plus focuses on beefing up the original's multiplayer content. The stand-alone add-on includes more multiplayer modes and maps, and supports both ad hoc and infrastructure play. Portable Ops Plus also incorporates new playable characters such as Snake and Raiden from the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4, and gamers can use saved character files from the original Portable Ops to battle it out in multiplayer action. (Despite the title, the original Portable Ops is not included with the game.)

In addition to the multiplayer upgrades, Portable Ops Plus adds a new single-player mode. The new Infinity Mission lets gamers take a party of MGS characters through increasingly difficult stages to gather equipment and develop their party's strength.

Rated T for Teen, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus will retail for $19.99.
