Pokemon X and Y playable at PAX Prime

Public's first opportunity to go hands-on with upcoming 3DS RPG at Seattle event this month; Bayonetta 2, Wind Waker HD also on display at the show.

The first public hands-on opportunity for Pokemon X and Pokemon Y will take place at PAX Prime later this month, Nintendo announced today.

A dedicated Pokemon gaming lounge at the Washington State Convention Center will allow players to try out the upcoming role-playing game, due out on October 12.

PAX Prime takes place August 30-September 2. GameSpot will be in attendance at the event.

Nintendo also announced today that Platinum Games creative director Hideki Kamiya will lead a panel called "Inside The Wonderful 101" at PAX Prime. He will share insight into the vision behind the Wii U superhero game on Sunday, September 1, at 5 p.m. at the Pegasus Theater.

Other playable Nintendo titles at PAX Prime include Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, Rayman Legends, and a host of digital games for Nintendo eShop.
