Pokemon Sword / Shield DLC: All The Old Pokemon Coming Back In Isle Of Armor & The Crown Tundra

More than 200 Pokemon from previous games are being added to Sword and Shield later this year; here are all the ones that have been confirmed so far.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are getting two big expansions this year: The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra. Each takes players to a new portion of the Galar region that's home to many new and returning Pokemon to collect, including a few new Legendaries and Galarian forms.

In all, more than 200 familiar Pokemon are being added to Sword and Shield, and you don't need to own the DLC to obtain them--all players will be able to collect the Pokemon through trading or by transferring over ones you've captured in previous games via Pokemon Home.

Now Playing: Pokemon Sword & Shield Are Getting Expansions, New Pokemon, & More - GS News Update

Since the expansions were announced, The Pokemon Company has been gradually revealing some of the new and returning monsters coming to Sword and Shield alongside each DLC. We've listed all the Pokemon revealed so far below, and we'll continue to update the list as we discover more while exploring the Isle of Armor, which is out now on the Eshop.

The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra are bundled together as part of the Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass, which costs $30 USD. On top of the DLC, you'll receive a few other bonuses for picking up the pass, such as a Pikachu uniform and Eevee uniform for your trainer. You can learn more in our Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pre-order guide.

The Crown Tundra expansion does not yet have a release date, but it is slated to follow sometime this fall. Its theme is "exploration," and it introduces a new co-op gamplay feature that allows you to explore Pokemon Max Raid dens together with other players. Lurking within these dens are a variety of Legendary Pokemon from previous games, as well as a handful of new ones. The expansion also adds a new competition called the Galarian Star Tournament, in which you'll team up with an AI partner and take on characters you've met throughout the game in double battles.
