Sword and Shield's current slate of Max Raid events are also ending soon. Gigantamax Alcremie will be more likely to appear in Max Raids until January 31, while the appearance rates of Gigantamax Coalossal, Lapras, Flapple, and Appletun will return to normal on February 7.

Earlier this month, Nintendo announced that Pokemon Sword and Shield are receiving two expansions this year, each of which will introduce a new area to explore, as well as new items, gameplay mechanics, and more. The expansions will also add over 200 old Pokemon to the games--and you don't need to own the DLC to obtain them. You can see all the returning Pokemon confirmed so far in our roundup.
