Pokemon Sun and Moon Animations Ported to Unreal Engine 4

Gotta get some of that Salazzle-dazzle.

Talented modder and YouTuber CryZENx has ported animations for Incineroar and Salazzle from Pokemon Sun and Moon to Unreal Engine 4. This is a simple animation test, so while it looks like the two Pokemon are squaring off for a fight, you won’t see an actual battle in the video below.

This isn’t CryZENx’s first attempt at taking fan-favourite properties and making them look shiny modern. The modder has a YouTube channel full of videos, including such gems as a recreation of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s Gerudo Valley, and an uncomfortably fast Sonic the Hedgehog.

According to a post on CryZENx’s Facebook page, the Nintendo Switch’s ability to run Unreal Engine 4 means it’s possible that a future Pokemon game could look as pretty or better that what you can see in the video above. But, given that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a modernized, but heavily stylized look, it seems unlikely Nintendo would opt to go for something quite as modern as all that.

It would be interesting to see these models—apparently lifted and modified from actual game files—paired with the unused walking animations found in Nintendo’s record-breaking Pokemon Sun and Moon last week.

Now, for an extra dose of nostalgia and longing, check out Hyrule Field from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in Unreal Engine 4:

those fan made game look nice but the lighting effects are kind of too bright and kind set off the colors, pretty much cryzenx is just using 3d models ripped off from the wii u version (his ocarina of time video) like hyrule warriors and port it into unreal engine 4, but it he tweak a little to match how nintendo made their game (the way it looks), then it'll look great.

Personally I like that Nintendo is running separate engines for their games. And I personally really think their games look and feel way better than anything I ever seen on unreal engine. For example Zelda - Ocarina of Time above got an incredible upgrade of textures, full 3d support etc. on the 3ds. Games on unreal engine are usually just a hi res version of the game whit some grass thrown in there that doesn't really fit the game world all that well.

And yeah then we have the new Zelda game. Personally I think this looks really great. They have build everything themself, the graphic engine, the physic engine, the many ways the world can be interacted whit and so on. So when we finally get to play it it will be the first time we ever play something like it.

Usually I feel games made on the unreal engine more or less works exactly the same and looks exactly the same. The games can be ok, and it works for action games and stuff like that, but yeah they tend to become a little boring after a while as they all feel and look pretty much the same.

And yeah Nintendo owns a bunch of companies, like for example the company making the Fire Emblem games, and the company making the Xenoblade Chronicles games and they both have their own art work and feel witch is great.

(Notice that the Character is custom made by the player and everything you see is not a movie but the game itself).

Nintendo is stupid as hell, which is why they will eventually leave the console scene. Nobody is going to want to buy outdated consoles much longer, especially when their phones are already more than capable of running Nintendo games. I knew at some point they would tart doing phone games; I'm thinking it's only a matter of time before they completely transition out of consoles.

@bobbo888: You are so far from reality it's embarrassing.

@Sgt_Crow: I can see based on your posts that you're a very angry Nintendo fan boy, so really your opinion means nothing. Everyone said Nintendo would never start putting games out for 3rd parties. They're now making phone games. Where is your retort anyways? Go play some squid kid and pokemon

@bobbo888: Ew creep. Maybe you should stop thinking. Calling someone else an angry fanboy while all your own angry and aggressive posts are there for all to see.

There is so much sexual tension between the two Pokémon in the first video.

If Nintendo wasn't living in the 90's still, this is what you would've gotten with the WiiU and on the Switch it would have looked even better. Instead, its still old shit engine from 2002 and animations from the GC era.
