Pokemon Go's Watch Accessory Delayed

Pokemon Go Plus will now be available in September.

Pokemon Go Plus, the watch-like accessory that allows players to catch monsters without looking at their phone will now be available in September, instead of July.

The announcement was made by Nintendo on Twitter, but a more specific release date was not provided.

Pokemon Go Plus is a Bluetooth device that connects to your phone and offers notifications (through vibrations and its LED) about various things. These include alerts that you're near a PokeStop or a Pokemon waiting to be caught; in the latter case, you can simply press a button on the Plus to throw a Poke Ball.

Although Pokemon Go isn't developed by Nintendo, it is producing and distributing the accessory. It's priced at $35, but is being sold for a much higher price on eBay after early preorders sold out.

The Pokemon Go mobile game has reportedly been downloaded more times in its first week than any other app in history.
