Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn goes live globally at the end of February, but Niantic has now announced Primal Rumblings, which is a short preview event that ends the day before Go Tour begins.

The Pokemon Go Primal Rumblings event begins February 22 at 10 AM local time, and it will run until February 24 at 10 AM local time. Multiple Pokemon from the Hoenn region of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire will appear in the wild, while the legendary Pokemon Rayquaza, Mega Latias, and Mega Latios will return to five-star and Mega raids respectively. Those who defeat Rayquaza have a chance to encounter a shiny variant to add to their collection.

Primal Rumblings will also feature a special Collection Challenge featuring Pokemon found in the wild during the event, with those who complete it receiving a supply of Ultra Balls and a Rocket Radar just in time for Pokemon Go Tour. Also, players will receive double the amount of experience points for every Pokemon they evolve throughout the event.

Pokemon Go Tour: Hoenn will launch globally in-game February 25-26 from 10 AM to 6 PM local time each day. This year's Go Tour centers around Primal Reversion, the unique transformation for Kyogre and Groudon that debuted in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on the Nintendo 3DS.

Pokemon Go is available to download for free on iOS and Android devices.
