Pokemon Go Out Now in UK
iOS and Androids versions of Pokemon Go available officially.
Following its launch in Australia, New Zealand, and the US, Pokemon Go is now officially available for iOS and Android devices in the UK. The game weighs in at 161 MB on iOS and 56 MB on Android.
Its release has added $9 billion to Nintendo's market cap, despite the fact that Nintendo didn't make the game. Nintendo does however own a share of The Pokemon Company, which produced Pokemon Go in partnership with Niantic.
Following the huge success of Pokemon Go, it has been reported that Hollywood studios are scrambling to sign a deal for the Pokemon movie rights.
In GameSpot's Pokemon Go review, it was awarded an 7/10
"If Pokemon Go’s initial public reception is anything to go by, its ability to draw players from multiple generations and varied gaming backgrounds together is a game worthy of attention," said Miguel Concepcion.
"When it works, Pokemon Go feels like a natural evolution for the series, very much a product of the times without making the mainline series obsolete. Its bugs and high battery consumption do not outweigh the old-but-new thrill of capturing Pikachu at a local park or vanquishing a Snorlax while conquering a gym."
