[Last Chance] Pokemon Go's June Field Research Tasks And Research Breakthrough Reward

New Field Research tasks are now live in Pokemon Go; here's the full updated list along with June's new Research Breakthrough reward.

Comments

June is officially here, and there's a lot happening in Pokemon Go this month. In addition to all the events Niantic has lined up for the game over the next few weeks, a new batch of Field Research tasks is now live, giving you a chance to earn a new Research Breakthrough reward. [Update: June is nearly over, which means it's your last chance to complete June's Field Research tasks and earn an encounter with this month's Research Breakthrough reward, Trapinch.]

Unlike Special Research questlines, which are assigned by Professor Willow, Field Research tasks are distributed via PokeStops. You'll receive a random task when you spin the Photo Disc. These can run the gamut from catching certain types of Pokemon to winning a Raid, and you'll earn various rewards for completing them, including berries, Poke Balls, and even Pokemon encounters.

The first Field Research task you complete each day will also net you a stamp. If you amass seven of these, you'll achieve a Research Breakthrough, which will unlock even more rewards, including a chance to catch a special Pokemon. This month's Research Breakthrough encounter is Trapinch, a Ground type and the first form of Flygon. You'll also earn bonus Trapinch Candy for capturing it.

Trapinch will only be available as a Research Breakthrough reward this month, so if you'd like to catch one, you'll need to achieve a Research Breakthrough before July 1, when Niantic refreshes the Field Research tasks again. You can see the full list of June's Field Research tasks, as compiled by The Silph Road, below.

That's not all that's happening in Pokemon Go right now. Reshiram, the Legendary cover monster from Pokemon Black, is appearing in five-star Raids until June 16. The first Galarian Pokemon are also available in Go alongside the game's final Throwback Challenge research line, while June's Community Day takes place on June 20 and features Weedle.
