Pokemon Go Adds Indefinite New Bonuses For Players At Home

Niantic is giving players new ways to play the Pokemon mobile game while stuck at home.

Comments

It may seem like a bad time to be the developer of a game that requires players to get outside and wander the streets, but Niantic has been remarkably quick at adapting to the situation.

Niantic has already added other bonuses to make playing Pokemon Go at home easier, such as boosting the time Incense is active and increasing the number of Pokemon it attracts.

Now Playing: Pokemon GO - GO Battle League Dev Insights

Updates have also been added to the new Go Battle League, removing the requirement to walk a certain number of steps to unlock new battle tracks. Players can also now remote battle with Good Friends, which was previously only unlocked upon becoming Ultra Friends.

The latest update has added an extra number of bonuses, including:

  • 3× Stardust and XP for your first Pokémon catch of the day
  • Open 30 gifts per day, carry 20 in your inventory
  • New rotating one PokeCoin bundles in the shop

The first new PokeCoin bundle consists of 100 Pokeballs for one PokeCoin, while the pack of 30 Incense will also be available if you haven’t redeemed it yet.

While the COVID-19 outbreak has caused Pokemon Go to have to cancel some events and extend others, the devs are doing their best to make sure that normal play can continue mostly uninterrupted during this time.
