PlayStation VR Set Up Videos Explain How to Get Started
Sony walks you through the fairly straightforward process.
Ahead of PlayStation VR's release later this week, Sony has released a three-part video series explaining how to set up the device--a process which involves a bit more than just plugging it into your PS4.
The first of the three videos essentially serves as an unboxing, which is something we've already seen. Part 2 walks through connecting all of the wires. The Processor Unit needs to be connected to both your TV (or receiver) and the PS4, as it serves as an HDMI splitter. It also needs to be plugged into the PS4 via USB and into the wall for power. You can see all of this above.
The final video goes into setting up the room itself--it discusses positioning of the PS4 camera, which is required for PS VR, and establishing a play area that measures 6 feet by 10 feet. Despite this, it's recommended that you remain seated while using PS VR, which is good news, as keeping pets away (as is suggested in the video) is easier said than done.
Finally, there are instructions on how to properly wear and adjust the headset (or take it off). It also notes that over-ear headphones should be put on after you have the headset on. The third video follows below.
