Both versions of the PS Vita will get a price cut starting next Thursday in Japan.

The device will drop from its 24,980 yen ($266) and 29,980 yen ($319) launch price--for the Wi-Fi and 3G/Wi-Fi model, respectively--to a 19,980 yen ($213) price tag for both versions of the console. The price cut will be effective starting February 28.

Just last week, rumors surfaced that a new version of Sony’s handheld device may include a HDMI and a USB port. Sony will be hosting a PlayStation press conference in New York City on February 20, where the company is expected to announce the PlayStation 4, or even a new version of the PS Vita.
