PlayStation Store Update: Final Fantasy IV Complete, Fancy Pants
Sony's online store updated with PSP RPG, PS3 adventure; Neutopia, Sonic 2, Arcana Heart 3, and Puzzle Agent also added to PS3 hub; Virtua Tennis 4 demo now out; PSP store welcomes Puzzle Guzzle.
It's another busy week on the PlayStation Network, as Sony welcomes a host of new content to its virtual storefront, ranging from Fancy Pants Adventure to Final Fantasy IV.
Leading the pack this week is Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection ($30). The combo pack includes Final Fantasy IV--with revamped visuals to take advantage of the PSP's widescreen format--as well as its epilogue, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. The episodic series of downloadable titles was originally released in 2009 on the Wii; this will mark the first time it has been available as part of a retail product.
Also out now is The Fancy Pants Adventures ($10) for the PlayStation 3. An action adventure game published by Electronic Arts, the title has players adventuring from left to right in a 2D world, stomping enemies along the way. The game also sports a multiplayer component, where up to four gamers can either compete against each other or work together.
Though it's now spring, gamers looking to bundle up can download the Prince of Persia Classic Trilogy HD ($40). Ubisoft's Prince of Persia combo includes 2003's The Sands of Time, 2004's Warrior Within, and 2005's The Two Thrones. All three games benefit from an HD remastering, as well as new stereoscopic 3D visuals.
Other new games out now in the PS3 storefront include 2D fighting game Arcana Heart 3 ($30), adventure game Neutopia ($6), Telltale Games' Puzzle Agent ($10), Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ($5), and Puzzle Guzzle ($6).
Those looking to the past for their excitement can download two new PSOne Classics this week, the first of which is Dino Crisis 2 ($6). The other game added to the nostalgic download space is Threads of Fate ($6).
Gamers looking to try before they buy this week can grab a sampler for the upcoming tennis simulator, Virtua Tennis 4. The game--which supports Sony's Move controller--is due out in full on May 10.
A full list of the week's deals and new PlayStation Store content, including themes, wallpapers, demos, discounts, and add-on content, is available on the PlayStation Blog.
