Would have loved to get Banner Saga 2 for free like the Xbox crowd did. I'll give Saints Row a try. Never played the games, nor had much interest, but I can't complain about getting it for free.

@putaspongeon: Once the games are yours, they're yours. They go into your library. As for spending money, I don't pay for PS+ because of the free games. They're just bonuses.

@Pierce_Sparrow: They aren't yours actually, you have to own playstation plus to play the games and if you let it run out, you can't play them (they are locked) until you get playstation plus again.

They are not bonuses, you might think they are, but they are the only thing of value you get.

It was literally the only thing you got really alongside meh sales + some demos back on the ps3

I don't need a steam membership to get better deals or for "steam gold/plus" to play online.

So the online is next to worthless since you can get arguably better stability for free.

No, playstation plus is the games, anyone who says otherwise is just throwing money at a wall.

You're supposed to look at it like: "why the **** do I have to pay to do this? They shouldn't charge for this, pc has free gaming, they shouldn't charge us to play parts of the games we bought!"

The games aren't extra, you're paying and you're getting games.

@putaspongeon: But it doesn't matter why because I do and I choose to. I could very well choose not to pay, but I personally don't care all that much. And when I do care, I'll stop paying. I have a PC as well and I play on there too. The difference here is that it's a big deal to you and not a big deal to me. If Sony had been charging us all along, like Microsoft always did for Xbox, there would be no complaints because it would be the norm. But because playing online was once free, people complain. I still consider the games extra because, even if there were no games, they would still be charging and we would still be paying to play online. There's really not much more to it than that.

@Pierce_Sparrow: Microsoft is trash for charging for it as well, it's not something that should be charged for.

You have to pay for a subscription to pay for the games you buy, sometimes the entirety of the game with certain online games.

@Pierce_Sparrow: Not true. When your PS+ subscription ends - all your free games get locked out. You can't play them. Thus you never do own them. Besides, 50$ a year is way too much.

@GunEye: Didn't know that, kind of weird. $50 is okay for a year. I've paid $50 yearly memberships for things I've used less, but to each their own. I like having it to play online with friends, get special deals, and other things, so it's worthwhile to have for me. The free games are just icing on the cake.

@Pierce_Sparrow: I understand where you are coming from. Unfortunately I don't have friends on the PS4 to play online games with. I am more of a SP guy but I love CO-OP. However I am also a PC gamer - and let me tell you this - there is absolutely no justification to pay money on monthly basis (10, 18, 50$) to get online multiplayer. Take a look at PS3 or the PC NOWDAYS - Online is 100% free. Besides I don't like the fact I have to commit playing online to make use out of that money.

That's one of the reasons why I didn't buy Bloodborne's Old Hunters DLC yet.

I love BB (I bought 3 month sub to play it) - but now I must pay 20 $ + 50/18$ + Some online money tax (not from the US) just to play a single DLC properly!

I also was generally underwhelmed by the PS+ games since LAST July.

Anyway, glad you are enjoying it, and making the most of it.

@GunEye: But you don't pay PS+ monthly. It's a $60 once a year fee. Comparing it to PC isn't exactly an equal comparison because there are games that charge you monthly prices to play, like WoW. There isn't just a single system for PC. And the PS3 is all but dead at this point, with pretty much no development for it and games shutting down over the years. I'm not sure what games charge monthly to play online through PS+, but it's nothing I play. Only one I know of for sure is FFXIV. Just seems like an overreaction to me. It was inevitable that Sony would end up charging for PS+, we were all just spoiled by having it for free.

@Pierce_Sparrow: Those are mmos, also mmos are updated almost endlessly + you only have to pay said subscription and not an initial fee. It's apples to oranges, you're getting cheaped out of money and you're supporting a bad business practice, sony are happy to take your money for no reason.

We weren't spoiled, that's literally the way it should be, you're just throwing money at them for them to give you free water, your games you buy are literally cut apart to force you to play for the online portion.

Saints Row 4 was just sort of overblown DLC for Saints Row the 3rd, which in itself I enjoyed. Is Gat Out of Hell just more of the same?

@snugglebear: It takes place in some city in hell. You get magical powers and wings to fly around with. I just bought Gat out of hell, IV and the two Metro redux games for $16 in a package deal through the PS store. Oh well. There is always next month.
