PlayStation Plus Free Games for June Announced, PS4 Getting Two Titles
From June onwards, Sony will streamline PlayStation Plus to have two titles for PS4, PS3, and Vita.
Starting from June 2014, Sony's PlayStation Plus service will offer two free PlayStation 4 games per month as part of its Instant Game Collection.
The service had previously been offering one game per month for Sony's latest console, alongside a handful for PS3 and Vita titles. Now the PlayStation Blog reports that PS Plus will simply offer two games per month for each platform.
What do you get in June, then? PS4 owners worldwide will be able to play Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate, a revamped version of the PS3's Pixeljunk Shooter 1 and 2 that will also feature Cross Buy for Vita, and Trine 2: The Complete Story.
Meanwhile, PS3 owners in the US will get to sample NBA 2K14 and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Those who own a Vita (by the way, they're awesome!) will get Terraria and Mutant Mudds Deluxe. The lineup is slightly different for those in Europe; check the bottom of this post for full details.
Also, the timing of the service has been rejiggered so that all of the games will now be made available from the first Tuesday of each month (Wednesday in Europe) and be available on the service for the whole month. Hurrah! Gone are the days of having to check PlayStation Plus every week to see what the games are. But along with this new move, Sony warns that many of the games that have existed in the Instant Game Collection for many months now are likely to be removed in the near future.
Here's the full lineup of the free PlayStation Plus games for June, for both Europe and the US:
