PlayStation Now Adds 12 More Games On PS4 And PC This Month

Here are the new titles coming to Sony's game streaming service.

17 Comments

Sony has once again expanded the PlayStation Now catalog with a new batch of titles. This month sees 12 more PS4 and PS3 games added to the streaming service, while a handful of PS3 games already available on PS Now have been updated to their PS4 versions.

PS4 games comprise the bulk of February's additions, but the biggest arrivals this month are a pair of PS3 games: Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5, which come to PS Now ahead of the release of the series' latest installment, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. That game launches for PS4 this April, giving subscribers a chance to catch up on the franchise before then. Additionally, this month's batch of PS Now games includes the fun and quirky tactical RPG Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance; the basketball game NBA 2K16; and the off-road racer Dirt Rally.

On top of the new PS Now games, several of the service's PS3 titles have been upgraded to their PS4 versions. These include the co-op heist game Payday 2, with the Crimewave Edition now available to play for subscribers. Other PS3 titles that have been supplanted by their PS4 versions are Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Guilty Gear Xrd Sign, and Motorcycle Club. Players who have any of these titles in their play history or saved games list will still be able to continue their progress in the PS3 version, while everyone else will only have access to the newer PS4 version.

You can find the full list of February's new PS Now games below. PS Now is Sony's game streaming service for PS4 and PC, and it gives players unlimited access to a library of more than 600 titles for $20 a month. Sony updates the PS Now catalog with a new batch of games monthly. January's lineup included Until Dawn, Gravity Rush, and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.

Along with the new batch of PS Now games, Sony has revealed the "most popular" games on the service for last month. The list is largely identical to December's most popular PS Now games, with Red Dead Redemption, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Fallout: New Vegas, and The Last of Us all featured on the chart, though one of last month's new titles--Until Dawn--also placed prominently.

I think Sony should do a price drop to compete with Microsoft's game pass. I can see this service taking off if it was cheaper and offered more games. I don't see why Sony can't add a ton of PS1 and PS2 games to the list.

The PS4 game selection is quite bad compared to Game Pass Xbox One games. Also, it costs twice as much.

@dani3po: Twice as much for 6 times the amount of games. I don't understand how anybody could look at the actual full selection and think it's bad? I have tried both services and Xbox Game Pass is really lagging behind in selection. Get real.

@kiwisoup: Are you kidding?

Sony Play Now is streaming. No Internet, no gaming.

90% of the titles are PS3 games. Xbox One has FREE BC.

PS4 titles are old AF. If you enter PS Now Web the Featured PS4 game is Killzone Shadowfall, a PS4 launch title.

Meanwhile, on Game Pass, for half the price: Gears of War 4, Sunset Overdrive, Sea of Thieves, Halo 5 and every Microsoft game from now own, including the next Forza.

@dani3po: You said selection...then i respond based on selection, then you bring up all this crap that had nothing to do with what you said originally. All of the PS exclusives are on PS Now too. I have played both...The selection is really not comparable. Sorry.

@kiwisoup:

What are you talking about? The only PS4 exclusives on PS Now are Resogun, Killzone and Knack. No Bloodborne. No Horizon. No God of War, Yakuza 6, Persona 5, Nier Automata, The Last Guardian, The Order or Uncharted 4. Get you facts straight.

They should rather expand the service for more countries, and then make the choice wider, because this way it is counterproductive as well. :/ I would love to play the first Red Dead Redemption game before the new one arrives, but PS Now is not available in my country, and because the game can be played via PS Now, it is much less reasonable for Rockstar to make a PS4 port. :(

@visali: The PS3 version sells for pretty cheap nowadays. Especially a used copy of the game. Not sure what country you're in but something to look into.

Early on PS Now was pretty bad. It's semi respectable now. It's pretty nifty from a PC gamer's standpoint since you gain access to games that can't be played any other way. It's quite a contrast to Xbox where any device capable of running Steam nixes the need for the hardware.

@Barighm: Not really. To play FH3 or Gears 4 you need a more powerful PC to obtain 60fps at high end settings at 1080p.

@redhedjack: It's pretty much about the PS3 era. If they added MGS4 it would be well worth subbing for just one month to play through all the exclusives.
