Sony has confirmed that its upcoming PlayStation Meeting event in NYC will be livestreamed. Further details about where you can watch the broadcast will be shared in the weeks ahead, a Sony representative told Polygon.

The PlayStation Meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 7, beginning at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET. It will take place at the PlayStation Theater (formerly Best Buy Theater) in NYC's famous Times Square.

Sony sent invitations to the event to media this week. There was no mention of what will be shown off or discussed, but it's hard to imagine it won't be the rumored PlayStation 4 Neo console unveiling.

Just before E3, Sony confirmed the existence of the new PS4. The company did not discuss the console at the event, where Microsoft unveiled both the Xbox One S and Project Scorpio consoles.

There have been reports that Neo could be released before the end of the year. However, with the announcement of Project Scorpio, it's possible Sony's plans to do so were interrupted.

Similar to Scorpio and the Scorpio, Neo is intended to "sit alongside and complement the standard PS4." Both PS4 and Neo will play the same games. In addition to Neo, Sony is rumored to be working on a slimmed-down PS4 possibly along the lines of Microsoft's newly released Xbox One S.
