PlayStation Experience 2003 confirmed for Europe

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today announced that, following the success of last year's PlayStation Experience event, which ran alongside ECTS at London's Earl's Court, it will host a similar event this year. The PlayStation Experience 2003 will again run alongside ECTS, but, according to today's press release, the event will be double the size of last year's and will be open for a longer period of time.

"The PlayStation Experience was a resounding success in 2002," said Ray Maguire, UK managing director, SCEE. "In excess of 20 thousand people attended the event over the three days, and we have had a huge amount of interest from consumers who want to see this event become a regular occurrence. To this end, we are pleased to announce that we will be running the event for the second time this year. With double the floor space, more content and live entertainment, four days' duration, and a much reduced entry price, this will be an even bolder statement of the PlayStation experience."

Taking place as part of London Games Week, the PlayStation Experience 2003 will be open from August 28 to August 31. Tickets for the event will cost £6 in advance or £8 on the day.

"The success of PlayStation Experience will be reflected not only by the increased investment in the size and content of the UK's show, but also the format will be rolled out to other key European territories this summer onward," said David Reeves, executive vice president of sales and marketing, SCEE. "The events will offer a truly memorable experience and bring a wide range of our consumers closer to all the things that make the market-leading console a compelling lifestyle choice."
